Snow Day

by Jesse Bauer
Grade 2, NY

I woke up early,
What a sight!
The grounds were covered,
It snowed all night.

A lady called
It's reallly cool
The lady said,
"There is no school."

I could have curled up
And gone back to bed,
But instead I ran
And got my sled.

I suited up
In my goves, hats and boots
And went to join the others
Bundled up in snowsuits.

I built a snowman
With two eyes, a nose and a mouth.
The one thing it did not want
Was to travel south.

My friends and I
Had a snowball fight
If it was up to me
It would have lasted all night!
