Mission to Mercury

"Houston, the Eagle has landed."

One of the most famous sentences in space history, it was a great day as Apollo 11 landed on the moon but not as famous as the words said today. 

You hear a loud clanking noise. You are falling at the speed of light. The cockpit is pith black. You're dead. "Try it again boys" is what you hear as you climb out of a simulator. Your mission to Mercury is scheduled for next week January 1, 3003.

December 31, 3002
My crew has perfected the simulator and is up for the final test, goodbye. It is the hardest of them all and most important. I forgot to tell you all I am the commander of this Mission and my name is Devin. It is time to suit up and get ready for launch at 5:35 a.m.

January 1, 3003 4:05 a.m.
My crew and I are preparing for the launch in an hour and a half. I believe that the launch will go smoothly.

20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 lift off!

January 9, 3003
My crew is at each other's throats. It is a good thing we will be landing tomorrow. "Houston, Mercury 1 has landed." Those words will be remembered for a long time now.

January 19, 3003
We are about to return home from a long hard journey. During this mission we have collected rocks, taken readings of all sorts, fought with each other and last and certainly not least, had a blast.

January 30, 3003
My crew and I have been home for a couple minutes and have seen our families. Now we have been taken back to NASA and briefed on Mercury 2...
