Renaissance Man
Leonardo da Vinci lived during the Renaissance, and he became famous for his many creations and discoveries in art, science, engineering, math, and more. His marvelous skills and vast knowledge led him to be known as a "Renaissance man."

You are a historian about to begin writing a book about how Leonardo da Vinci's work affected the world. But first, you must discover more about da Vinci. As you investigate the case of the Renaissance Man, you should find out--

• where and when he lived
• his major accomplishments, inventions, discoveries, and works of art
• what it means to be a "Renaissance man"
• why da Vinci is considered a Renaissance man
• how his inventions, discoveries, and artwork affected the world
• how life would be different without his work

Outlining & Writing a Position Paper
Organize the information you found in outline form. Then, write a position paper about how da Vinci's work affected the world, for better or for worse. Be sure to include supporting evidence.
